Château de Montfaucon Rosé Lirac Rhône Valley 2019 France

Reminiscent in hue and style of the finest wines of nearby Tavel, this fleshy, complex rosè is suffused with the vibrant flavors of cherry, wild raspberry and the surrounding southern Rhône garrigue. It dazzles your palate with ample acidity and is certainly far richer on the palate then a comparable Provençal rosé to the east of the valley. This is a high-toned rosé with serious depth and weight. The harmonious medley of Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Clairette will pair nicely with a platter of garlicky, grilled prawns, artisan cheeses and other appetizers but it can handle heavier foods too such grilled pork or beef tenderloin. And like all great rosès, it's a joy to drink all by itself. Eat your heart out Tavel - Lirac is nipping at your heels and doing it for a better price. Santé!
