Sangiovese Grosso is a special clone reserved only for the making of Brunello and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. It's a fuller bodied, more robust style of Sangiovese so wave goodbye to that dull Chianti Classico you've been drinking and take the Bosco for a ride. Campo del Bosco is 100% Sangiovese Grosso but because the vineyard source falls just outside the boundaries of the Brunello delineated area, we can’t call it as such. But therein lies the beauty. Today’s Brunellos can easily tip the scales at $75 or more, so I'm thrilled to be able to offer this wine for less than $40. Campo del Bosco spends 12-14 months in French barriques and 6 months in bottle before it’s released to the market. Aromas of violet and dark berries are followed by flavors of ripe, black cherry and spice all supported by hints of leather, coco and smooth tannins on the finish. Enjoy some really nice winemaking and classy, polished bottle of Italian rosso.
