Domaine Dauvissat "Vaillons" Premier Cru Chablis 2018 France

Vaillons is one of the largest Premier Cru vineyards in Chablis and happens to be made up of smaller parcels - special 'cru' vineyard sites known as climats. In Burgundy, these climats are synonymous with quality and are known for producing the finest Chardonnays in Chablis. Vaillons faces mostly southeast and ranges from steep in the west to a more gentle slope in the east. The valley is located just to the southwest of the village of Chablis itself and produces extraordinarily expressive, pure chardonnay. The Dauvissat Vaillons 2018 shows classic flint, lemony acidity, hints of smoke and pear, a bit of green apple and hints of tropical fruit. Lean and compact, Vaillons will need some time to fully develop but it already exhibits great character, beautiful balance and enjoyable (ripe apple) acidity. If it's the essence and purity of chardonnay that you're looking for, nothing delivers like Chablis, and especially Premier Cru. If you love Burgundy and want to try one of the finest white wines in the world, Vaillons has classic terroir and flavor to die for.
