Garon's most celebrated flagship cuvée, this is the estate's lone terre brune entrant from a single, very steep terraced parcel in les Rochins. Here in the "Cru" appellation of the northern Rhône Valley, Syrah develops in a way like no other place in the world. It's hard to come up with fitting accolades to genuinely describe this incredible Syrah where so many subtle nuances and layers of flavor evolve to create this stunning bottle of wine. So, I'll start by talking about the aromas of violets and flavors of black raspberries, blueberries and dark chocolate that hit you first. Then undertones of gaminess and smoked meat start to come through as the wine opens up. It is full-bodied, ultra-fine with silky tannins emmitting a powerful style while still staying light on its feet. This is Côte Rôtie as it was meant to be, and more importantly, Syrah as it can only be, when grown in the Northern Rhône Valley. Very classy stuff!
