Moulin de la Gardette "Tradition" Gigondas 2018

Jean Baptiste simply adores the wines from Burgundy with their attention to history, tradition and terroir. So it's no wonder that he has focused the same kind of passion on his vineyards and his winemaking in Gigondas to produce the finest expression of his terroir that he can possibly achieve. The Cuvée Tradition 2017 assembles decades of knowledge and experience only someone like JB can bring to the table. It is sourced from 45 to 65 year old vines, no de-stemming, and aged in old, large Foudre wooden vats. The blend is 80% Grenache and 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre. The Traditon Gigondas comes at you with all kinds of sweet, black raspberry and dark berry fruits, notes of spice, hints of garrigue and graphite. It is medium to full bodied in its makeup and gets silky soft and sexy in texture the longer the bottle is open. Make no mistake about it, this is classy Gigondas that will keep for 10 years.
