Full of dark cherry and berry flavors, and all the Italian nuance you could ask for, this Chianti Riserva spends 12-14 months in French barriques and another 4 months in bottle before release. It is 90% Sangiovese with the rest consisting mostly of Merlot and a splash of Syrah. I love the soft mouth feel and it has lovely, warm fruit with lots of depth and everything you would want from a classy, Italian red. Mandorli is a delicious accompaniment to any of your favorite Italian recipes (I'm a Pasta Puttanesca fan myself) or, it's just damn tasty all by its lonesome. Tuscan Sangiovese doesn't get much better than this. Cin Cin!
